There are several competing political realities in this world. As some Japanese soldiers were still fighting WW2 in the mid 1970s, there is also no 100% agreement about the fact that the Vietnam war, let alone the Cold War, is over. This is an example:

Well, being young is a very important thing in one's life. We all want to reprise what we did at an earlier time, even to the extent I suppose of flying semi-combat missions. (My own dreams generally involve less physically hazardous moments, like dating up the Polish refugee at Caf.)
