My first impression was that the GI was trying to hitch a ride!
Clearly this poster was not the work of the 1st Radio Broadcast & Leaflet (RB&L) Battalion, Psychological Warfare Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina! We were *much* more sophisticated than that.
